Smart Works’ Theory of Change explains how our service helps unemployed women move into work and build a brighter future for themselves.
It begins with the core inputs that make our support possible: a skilled volunteer community, dedicated delivery teams, strong referral partnerships, well‑equipped centres and wardrobe stock, and the funding that sustains our operations.
These foundations help us deliver a tailored service for our clients which tackles both skills‑based and confidence‑related barriers to employment. We offer one‑to‑one career coaching to help women progress towards the job market, interview preparation that combines coaching, a mock interview and a personalised styling session to identify an interview outfit, and a dressing service which provides work‑appropriate clothing either once a client has secured a job or, in exceptional cases, earlier in their journey
Through this support, clients gain immediate boosts in confidence, clarity and job‑search readiness. Over time, these gains translate into higher chances of securing interviews, receiving job offers and staying in work. Ultimately, the impact extends beyond employment alone — contributing to long‑term financial stability, improved wellbeing and positive change for women and their families.
